Northern Light Theatre Company's next performance is the fun/dance musical "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers".
This fun story is set on the American frontier where there were twenty men for every eligible woman (or so they tell us). Adam Pontipee comes to town to trade for supplies and hopefully, a wife! Millie is attracted to him and accepts his offer of marriage - but will she regret it?
Making the best of a bad bargain, Millie decides to teach her new brothers-in-law some manners in the hope that they will eventually land wives of their own, but nothing works out the way she expected.
Adam is played by Matthew Redmond, and Millie by Sophia Bubner, with Tom Drenthen, Simon Ngui, Josh White, Brett Green, Nathan Quadrio and Jai Caffarella joining them as Adam's brothers. The kidnapped brides are played prettily by Bianca Levai, Vanessa Redmond, Charlotte Berrill, Laura Shelley, Samantha Hayes and Alexandra Shelley. Fighting for their girls are the suitors, Griff Bartell, Graham Loveday, Cody Mulady, Ben Fleming, Josiah Salagaris, and Daniel Watkins. The cast also includes Russell Ford, Avril Kelly, Paul Zechner, Cheryl Ford, Eric DeBlu, Sally Howie, Kevin Knott, Louise Watkins, Kristy Willett, Amanda Sharp and more.
Directed by Fran Edwards, musically directed by Helen Loveday and choreographed by the wonderful Kerry Lynne Hauber, performances commence at the Shedley Theatre Elizabeth today 28th March and conclude on 12th April. Shows begin at 8:00pm, with 2:00pm matinee performances on 5th and 12th April. Tickets can be booked on line at www.northernlight.org.au/tickets or by phoning 8281 5026 or through BASS.
