New Comedy Flips The Script On Sexual Politics ImageIn the tradition of Holden Street Theatres' renowned Fringe programming, the award-winning South Australian and New Zealand company House of Sand returns to Holden Street, the home of theatre for the 2018 Feast Festival, from 20 November to 2 December with the Adelaide premiere of Alice Birch's (UK) Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. a new comedy which flips the usual script on sexual politics.

In Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. women take their rightful place centre stage: becoming the aggressors in seductions, demanding what they want in the workplace, and trashing supermarkets (and with them, fragile masculine egos). What happens next? Equal parts laugh-out-loud funny and gut-wrenchingly real, Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. is a thrilling ride for anyone with a taste for rebellion and great social theatre.

Directed by Charles Sanders (Welcome The Bright World), Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. features performances by Eliza Sanders, Enya Daly, Richard Hilliar, Fiona Press and Amy Victoria Brooks. Set and Costume Design is by Stephanie Howe with sound design by Danielle O'Keefe and lighting by Sophie Pekbelimli.

Writer Alice Birch tears apart the structures that keep feminism and women trapped inside a patriarchal system, and presents a rallying cry for a new feminism; to work outside the system and re-redefine the way we think about womanhood.

Packed with intelligence, humour and wrenching social commentary, House of Sand bring its signature visceral performance style to a Revolt that is a punch in the face wrapped in a satin glove. Based on conversations with more than 80 Australian women across a range of socio-economic, cultural, religious, sexuality and gender backgrounds, this new production will resonate deeply with local audiences.

Tickets to Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. are: General Admission: $28.00;
Concession: $22.00; Groups (6+): $20.00.
