Matthew Lykos, acclaimed Lead of The Fishbowl Boys, emerging shining light of the Australian folk scene, and inspirational, multi-award-winning soloist, will appear for one night only at the Goodwood Institute Theatre, Saturday 25th June, presenting his solo concert debut.
In this unique performance, the 2014 AusACA Best Soloist awardee, whose distinctive voice has been described as "like silk and honey with a touch of steel" and "like being hugged", will engage with his first love, presenting his own fascinating song selections from diverse folk repertoires, including traditional and contemporary folk music from Ireland, England, Greece, Australia and more.
With his own masterful self-accompaniment on Guitar and Mandolin and the evocative chamber-folk collaboration of The Paisley String Orchestra; Emma Woolcock (fiddle) and Anne Harrington (percussion), Matthew will share songs and stories from around the globe, bringing to the warm, intimate setting of the Goodwood Institute Theatre the varicoloured life and energy of European villages, bluesy basements, misty moors, shady glens, country towns, and maybe even the high seas.
the concert will also feature the appearance of a particularly notable shirt.
