Twenty-two young talented musicians and singers from the celebrated award winning Marryatville High School Music Centre will bring cheer to the historic neo gothic Wesley Church Kent Town when they present their showcase at Concerts at Kent Town at 2pm Wednesday 20 September, under the direction of Aldis Sils Head of Music at the school.

The ensemble will perform a diverse program of music and songs from best loved classics to swing, showing their expertise on a variety of instruments from the mighty church organ to saxophone. Accompanist Jamie Cock.

The ensemble can truly claim to be award winners having won four of the prestigious awards at this year's Eisteddfod, prompting distinguished judge Carl Crossin to say that the winners were testament to the strength of a program that develops musicianship through singing from junior through to senior students. Carl Crossin Adjudicator 2017 Eisteddfod.

Said Head of Music: "The award winning Marryatville High School Special Interest Music Centre comprises a music program for the identified musically gifted and a general music program embedded in a comprehensive high school.

"In addition to choirs the other pillar of the music program is performing in instrumental ensembles. With over 20 to choose from, students are encouraged to engage in a variety of styles including Classical, Jazz and Contemporary music.

Graduates from this program have gone on to a variety of careers, but a number are professional musicians in Australia and oversees."
