The SALA (South Australian Living Artists) Festival hits Victoria Square today for the first time in the event's 19 year history with SALA IN THE SQUARE, transforming it into a buzzing festival hub of live art, exhibitions, music and free arty fun for the whole of August.
The event will feature live art creation by local artists with exhibitions inside specially converted shipping containers, artist Marie Jonsson-Harrison's Bus full of Art, an old STA bus converted into a quirky and colourful gallery on wheels, live musical performances by special guests from 2016 SALA partner The Adelaide Guitar Festival's "Guitars in Bars and Other Places" program, and opening speeches by Lord Mayor Martin Haese and SALA Director Penny Griggs
SALA in the Square opens to the public between 9 AM and 5 PM on August 1st
is open and will continue Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, throughout August.
