Distinguished International Organist Malcolm Archer, Director of the 62nd Annual Summer School of the Royal School of Church Music, Australia and Director of Chapel Music, Winchester College in England, will give a recital at Wesley Church Kent Town during the Summer School, being held in Adelaide from 4 - 11 January 2017. The recital is at 3pm on Sunday 8 January 2017. Admission is $20 at door.
Malcolm's program for this recital promises to include examples of the great organ music repertoire encompassing Bach to the 20th century.
Malcolm Archer has a distinguished and worldwide reputation as a choral and orchestral conductor, organ recitalist, teacher and as a composer and editor. He has worked at Norwich, Bristol and Wells Cathedrals, and as Director of Music at St Paul's Cathedral in London. He is currently Director of Chapel Music at Winchester College in England.
As a composer his music is widely performed and his compositions have gained a special place in the repertoire for their strength, liturgical aptness and accessibility. He is a fellow of the RSCM, awarded for his work as a composer of church music, as well as his leadership in cathedral music.
Malcolm Archer has appeared as an organist in Europe, New Zealand, the USA and Canada. In addition to the organ recital, he will also bring his immense experience as a choral trainer to Adelaide in a series of workshops in choral conducting.
