The producers of the inaugural season of The Lab, for the 2018 Adelaide Fringe, have announced a change of venue from Percy Court Studio (4 Percy Court, Adelaide) to the Queen's Theatre (Playhouse Lane & Gilles Arcade, Adelaide).

The L.B. Co.produced by Matthew Briggs (Under The Microscope) and Colin Griffin (Encoder Entertainment), is set to house a performance space, gallery space and a fully licensed café and bar operating from 10:30am until late Tuesdays to Sundays. The Lab program comprises sixteen shows and more than fifty artists presenting more than fifty performances across cabaret, music, theatre and visual art.

The change of location will see The Lab open from Friday the 23rd of February 2018 to Saturday the 17th of March 2018. Therefore, The Lab Opening Gala will become The Lab Closing Gala on Saturday the 17th of March at 7pm where artists and patrons will celebrate the end of the 2018 Adelaide Fringe. At the Queen's Theatre The Lab will also be able to extend its opening hours for the café and bar, as well as increasing audience capacity.

Matthew Briggs said, 'After consultation with Percy Court Studio, the Adelaide City Council and the Adelaide Fringe on the matter. And after careful consideration, we have come to the conclusion that changing location will benefit our programmed artists and patrons'.

'From classical to jazz, to hip hop and musical theatre, The Lab will feature the work of Australian songwriters, lyricists, composers and musicians, including an array of shows with an insightful mental health theme; from post-traumatic stress and anxiety, to obsessive compulsive disorder and bipolar disorder.'

'We really believe in the quality of our 2018 Adelaide Fringe program and our vision for The Lab. And, with the remarkable support from our artists and the Adelaide Fringe, we know that we will succeed with our original goal of creating a high quality CBD performance space for fabulous, challenging, intelligent and high-calibre art.'

All patrons who have purchased tickets to shows at The Lab will receive notification about the change of location from the Adelaide Fringe.
