The Aussie kings of narrative circus, Head First Acrobats are back for the 2019 Adelaide Fringe with an all-new acrobatic adventure called Railed, a western themed circus spectacular, combining the trademark physical talents, finely chiselled bodies and hilarious comic timing of Head First Acrobats (creators of the smash hit Elixir , winner of the Best Circus and Physical Theatre Award at 2018 Adelaide Fringe).
Its bare-chested circus meets bare knuckle bar fights in this racy, heart-stopping display of the finest acrobatics by the most ridiculous story tellers (from the wrong side of the tracks) in circus. The Head First boys promise to steal your hearts and derail your night.
Railed will play in the Octagon at Gluttony at 9:30pm from 15 February to 17 March (excepting Mondays). The show will debut in Perth before coming to Adelaide.
Directed by Debra Batton (Circus Oz, winner of Total Theatre Award for the show Casting Off) and John Walton (Director of Elixir), Railed features the talents of; Thomas Gorham the all-round acrobat and trapeze expert who plays the mostly useless 'Drunk Sheriff'; and Callan Harris the powerful yet standoffish vagrant showing off immense feats of balance and impressive physique; and two new members Adam O'Connor-McMahon, the trained clown and 'manipulator' (i.e. fancy juggler) from WA-based circus company Fliptease, who plays the resident barman keeping the boys liquored up and ready for action; and Harley Timmermans, formerly of Strut n Fret. Harley brings technicality and artistry to Head First Acrobats and plays the town hero in Railed.
Tickets for Railed are priced from $30 general admission and may be purchased through Fringetix.
