Neil Simon, America's premier comic playwright, makes another hilarious foray into the world of modern relationships, and Galleon Theatre Group has jumped on board to test the waters!
Jake is a writer, a writer with a problem, and when the reality of Jake's own life becomes too much for him, he retreats into the rich world of his imagination. Often, the line between reality and imagination becomes a messy - but delightful - blur. Jake does much more than just put words down on paper. His fictional characters - and the dialogue he creates for them - are so real, they become real to him.
Warren McKenzie is the powerhouse director behind his talented cast, and is relishing bringing Simon's zippy dialogue to the stage. (It appears for the first time in Adelaide!)
Join Andrew Clark as the confused, bemused and bewildered Jake. The seven women in his life, both real and imaginary, are played by a marvellous group of talented women ; Marie Nield, Jo St.Clair, Laura Antoniazzi, Anita Canala, Molly McCormack, Laurie Mulgrew and Eilish Devlin.
As "Jake's Women" flashes back and forth between then and now, between real and imaginary, we experience Neil Simon at his Pulitzer Prize-winning best: uncovering truths, touching our hearts, and making us laugh.
