Adelaide singer/songwriter Diana Scalzi will debut her new band, Dee Ana Dee, at South Australia's newest music festival.
The Umbrella festival has been established by Music SA to support local musicians and live music venues in the CBD through the winter period.
After winning Scala's Festival of Original Music song competition in 2014, Diana has been developing a new sound with local musicians Josh Moorhouse, Neil Palmer and Stephen Morabito.
"People often say I sound like Kate Bush. I have grown to realise my music can be unique and quirky, yet still pop". Scalzi says."Just as Kate Bush is known for incorporating elements such as dance and puppetry into her performances, I liked the idea of creating a live music show with an organic yet theatrical twist."
Dee Ana Dee's debut performance, where the band will unveil its first single, Distracted, will feature poetry, tap dance and a photographic art display by Michael Firminger.
