After the 2016 sell-out tour, Larks in Transit, the UK's very own straggle-haired polymath, Bill Bailey, returns to Australia with his new comedy and music extravaganza, Earl of Whimsy. This tour will also feature Bill as one of the headline comedians for the Just For Laughs Sydney Comedy Festival at the Sydney Opera House.

Earl of Whimsy will have Bill's trademark blend of satire and surrealism, stories and dismantled jokes, crowd sing-alongs, weird instruments and musical showstoppers. But there's a distinctly historical feel to this show. With its tales of Britain's fortunes past and present, of ancient Viking battles, of Shakespeare's contribution to comedy, and Bill's own ancestry, this is both a mockery and a celebration of national identity.

Bill Bailey is a legendary comedian, musician and actor most well-known for his brilliant live shows Dandelion Mind, Tinselworm, Bewilderness, Part Troll, Qualmpeddler and Limboland plus his work on television in programs such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI and ABC TV's award winning Black Books.

In his diverse and celebrated career, Bill has travelled to South Africa to record Baboons With Bill Bailey for an 8-part series for ITV. He has performed at major music festivals such as The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival where Rolling Stone magazine named this revolutionary entertainment experience one of the 50 moments that changed the history of rock and roll. He has also performed at the Sonisphere Festival in the UK alongside, Slayer, Biffy Clyro and Metallica. As a result of this, the album Bill Bailey In Metal was produced. A highlight of his career was filming with BBC Natural History Unit in Indonesia and Malaysia for Bill Bailey's Jungle Hero, a two-part documentary about naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace.

Bill continuously tours around the world selling out theatres throughout the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. 2018 will see Bill developing more ideas for film and television with his own Production Company, Glassbox Productions who are responsible for bringing to the screen Tinselworm, Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra, Dandelion Mind and Qualmpeddler.
