Artists Announced for Major Rodin Exhibition

Over 60 modern and contemporary artists will go head to head with the maverick of modern sculpture in major new exhibition Versus Rodin: bodies across space and time at the Art Gallery of South Australia this March.

Through a series of duets and duels, works by Auguste Rodin will be brought into vivid conversation with over 200 works of art by leading artists from Australia and overseas who have similarly challenged our understanding of the human condition. Artists include:

Coinciding with the centenary of the great French sculptor's death, Versus Rodin draws on the Gallery's own collection of Rodin bronzes, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. The exhibition will also feature new works on display for the first time by Australian Dance Theatre, Polly Borland, Cecily Brown, Thea Costantino, Bridget Currie, Urs Fischer, Ben Leslie, Guy Maestri, Elvis Richardson, Julia Robinson, Alison Saar, Tim Silver, Wolfgang Tillmans and Francis Upritchard; and International Artists never exhibited in Australia.

Presented as part of the 2017 Adelaide Festival, Versus Rodin: Bodies across space and time runs from 4 March to 2 July 2017.
