Maison De Danse (House of Dance) is making its Adelaide Fringe premiere this year on Friday 1, 8 and 15 March from 9pm at The Hindley 149 Hindley St. Adelaide. This inclusive 'dance hall' style community event is ready to excite, inspire and dazzle audiences with its own unique curated program of musical performances, dance and entertainment. Celebrating the 'joie de vivre' of house-ballroom culture, the 3 nights are the culmination of a distinctive creative process drawing primarily from Music, Fashion and Dance with influences spanning Design, Digital Technology and Queer Culture as well as the mind-body work of Rudolf Laban.

'Inspired by Harlem ball culture from New York in the 1920's.' The Advertiser

Supported by the City of Adelaide, LWDance Hub, Finsart Studio and the Australian Cultural Fund this process has brought together local Adelaide artists including iconic Adelaide musician and performer, the stunning Becky Blake @beckyblake0; alluring freelance dancer and choreographer Ellicia Britton @ellicia_rose; super talented international dancer/performer Jake Walasek @jake.walasek19 and acclaimed choreographer, dancer and yoga/pilates guru Fiona Gardner @finsartstudio.

Becky affirms that 'Maison De Danse is about self-expression through dance, music and creativity while believing in love for love.'

Working together with Filipino-Australian stylist, choreographer and artistic director Ben-Hur Winter @wani_niyawa (aka drag impresario Chic Mystique), come through to Adelaide's state-of-the-art music venue, The Hindley Front Bar where the sassy show cast will perform together with a stellar line-up of local DJ's as the purveyors of Adelaide's renowned electronic music scene.

Delivering a driving musical soundscape will be DJ's Moody Marcello and Sleezy (1 March), Luc Blanko and Jackinthegroov (8 March), Cusack and DJ Josh (15 March).

Ellicia says 'It's exciting to be part of Maison De Danse and to share a slice of South Australia's cultural diversity in an international arts festival environment. It helps put Adelaide on the map while supporting a legacy of community building.'

There will also be live VJ'ing and beauty make-overs at the event, along with a voguing showdown with prizes for partygoers that want to strut their stuff just for good fun!
