Adelaide Fringe Artist Fund Recipient Indelabilityarts Comes to ADL Fringe 2018 Image Adelaide Fringe Artist Fund supports inclusive Brisbane Theatre Company indelabilityarts to bring Look Mum ... No Hands ! ! ! ( The Legless Bar Years ), to Adelaide Fringe Festival 2018. When we started our company in 2015 we made a list of things we wanted to do ... Adelaide Fringe Festival was right at the top, so when we received this funding we were so thrilled, said company co - founders and co - artistic directors Catarina Hebbard and Rebecca Alexander.

They continued to explain that they started the company to create professional opportunities for artists who have the lived experience of disability. Rebecca said that the company's original core ensemble, Dave, Karen, Madeleine & Michel developed the work as a way to share their stories and showcase their skills. Karen, Dave & Madeleine have all written and composed songs that they perform in the show, she said. Disabled artists are under - represented on our stages - that's something we are working on changing.

In just over 2 years indelabilityarts have created 2 shows ( both of which have seasons in 2018 ), they now employ 6 artists part time & work with another 20 through their acting workshops each week. Our company is all about our artists and putting them and their stories centre stage, and we will continue to do this as long as people keep wanting to see our shows, said Rebecca. So now in 2018, following 3 sold out seasons of Look Mum ... No Hands ! ! ! indelabilityarts are looking forward to sharing this show as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival at the Queen's Theatre.

The performance takes place in the fictitious Legless Bar, the actors take the stage under the guise of four comedy - hopefuls preparing to give it their all at their local annual open - mic night. From trivia to karaoke, stand - up gone wrong, seduction, blind dates and fantasy fairy tales ... this is a roller - coaster of a show, jam - packed full of fun, music, mayhem ( planned ), and heart - warming moments.

Karen's story is one of late diagnosis, mental breaks, shock therapy treatments and crazy antics, she is joined on stage by Michel - whose quest for love takes him to the Legless Bar yet again, his gentle soul and warm heart belie his wicked sense of humour, Dave, who will have the audience rolling in the aisles and floored by his jaw - dropping vocal skills, and Madeleine whose musical prowess, sharp wit and comic timing has a sting in its tail that has been known to unsettle even the most confident of audiences. indelabilityarts is proudly supported by the Adelaide Fringe Artist fund 2017. All performances will be Auslan interpreted through support from the Endeavour Foundation Endowment Challenge Fund. The work was created in 2015 with the support of Brisbane City Councils ' community development and capacity building grant, Brisbane Powerhouse & RPAC.

The show is on for 6 nights at Queen's Theatre @ the Lab, Gilles Arcade and Playhouse Lane Adelaide. h Fri 24, Sat 25 Feb 5 pm / Wed 27, Thurs 28 Feb 7pm / Sat 3 Mar 1pm and Sun 4 Mar 5pm Prices : Full $ 30 / Conc $ 27 / Groups 6 + $ 26 Bookings : https : / / www.adelaidefringe.com.au / fringetix / look - mum - no - hands - the - legless - bar - years - af2018
