OzAsia is Australia's leading arts Festival for engagement with Asia. Each year, the Festival highlights a particular Asian region and enables audiences to discover an inspiring array of theatre, dance, music, visual arts, film and food. The Festival is an integral part of Adelaide Festival Centre's ongoing commitment to advancing Asian/Australian cultural relations.
According to Douglas Gautier, Adelaide Festival Centre CEO and Artistic Director, Adelaide Festival Centre is very proud to have achieved a finalist position in the 2014 Awards.
"We firmly believe that OzAsia supports deeper cultural relations by enabling local audiences to engage with innovative, international works - so the recognition of OzAsia Festival as a success in terms of its ability to promote multiculturalism means a great deal", said Douglas.
"Achieving a finalist position in the Governor's Multicultural Awards further cements our leadership position and reputation for successfully enhancing Australian-Asian cultural engagement and we will continue to work towards helping Australians better understand Asian culture, traditions and language."
OzAsia 2014 contained six world premieres, seven Australian premieres, eight South Australian premieres and 26 Adelaide exclusives. More than 250 artists and presenters from around the globe descended on Adelaide to be part of this international event.
OzAsia 2015 will launch on September 23 and run until October 4 2015. Heading up his first OzAsia Festival, Festival Director Joseph Mitchell is creating a diverse and innovative program, showcasing Indonesia.

With a focus on the diversity of arts across the Indonesian archipelago as well as performances from Japan, India, China, Taiwan and Korea, the program will celebrate Asia in the 21st century," said Joseph.
