According to the Daily Mail, Hannah John-Kamen has officially been cast as the title role of Viva in the upcoming Spice Girls-inspired musical Viva Forever! alongside Sally Ann Triplett as her mother. Both actors participated in developmental workshops prior to being cast.

John-Kamen described her character to the Daily Mail as, "young, vibrant, with stars in her eyes—very innocent."

Triplett is set to play Lauren, who lives on a houseboat with her adopted daughter Viva, played by John-Kamen. The plot revolves around Viva culling together a girl group that enters a TV talent competition, which unsettles her mother.

The show is helmed by director Paul Garrington, producer Judy Craymer, Jennifer Saunders, choreographer Lynne Page and orchestrator Martin Koch. Rehearsals begin in October, previews will be underway Nov. 27 and opening night is set for Dec. 11.

John-Kamen just wrapped shooting as a Costa Rican burlesque dancer in BBC's The Hour, which debuts in November. Other television credits include The Syndicate, Whitechapel, Black Mirror, Misfits, and more.

Triplett is currently playing Donna in Mamma Mia! and continues with the show until Sept. 24. Triplett's other theatre credits include Lend Me A Tenor, Make Me A Song, Take Flight, Chicago, Much Ado About Nothing, Acorn Antiques: The Musical, Carrie - The Musical (on Broadway), Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, The Villain's Opera, Cats, Jolson The Musical, Grease, Chess, Follies, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and many more. Triplett also appeared in 1980 in the Eurovision Song Contest with the band Prima Donna and on the program again in 1982 with Bardo, as well as playing a series regular on BBC's Crackerjack!
