The Royal Shakespeare Company's revival of Arthur Miller's The Crucible will ensorcel the West End's Gielgud Theatre in a transfer beginning March 29th; the classic drama will open on April 5th.

Directed by Dominic Cooke and starring Iain Glen (The Blue Room) as John Proctor, the current production is running at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon through March 18th. Producers Bill Kenwright and Thelma Holt will bring the show to the West End.

"When young women are discovered trying to conjure spirits, the town of Salem is gripped by accusations of witchcraft. In a community paralysed by fear and religious extremism, recrimination and greed take a deadly hold," according to the RSC's website. "The RSC celebrates the life and work of Arthur Miller with one of his greatest plays. This will be the RSC's first ever major, main stage production of a Miller play." Miller, who also penned classics such as Death of a Salesman and All My Sons, died on February 10th, 2005.

Miller is also currently represented on London by Miller's satire Resurrection Blues, which opened to mostly negative reviews on March 2nd. Directed by Robert Altman, and starring Neve Campbell, Maximilian Schell and Matthew Modine, it will run through April 22nd at the Old Vic.
