To celebrate the March store release of her second CD, entitled Fair
Warning, 2004 Back Stage Bistro Award-winner Rebecca Spencer will sing selections from the recording and sign
CDs at the Tower Records - Lincoln Square store in Manhattan on
Wednesday, April 5.
In addition, Spencer has accepted an offer for the role of Madame Giry and shall
open the ne Las Vegas production of The Phantom of the Opera at the
Venetian Hotel & Casino, where she will begin rehearsals on April
24 for an anticipated June 24 opening. "The role brings Rebecca back to
the haunts of the Paris Opera House fifteen years after her debut as
Carlotta in Sir Andrew and Mr. Prince’s Hamburg, Germany production," according to press notes. The actress, who is also a noted concert soloist, has also been seen on Broadway in Jekyll & Hyde, and created the role of Emma in the original Alley Theatre production.
Spencer's debut recording Wide Awake and Dreaming (LML Music) began a
collaboration with pianist Philip Fortenberry featured "contemporary art song interpretations,
inspired by the lyrics. Fair Warning at its heart is a dedication to
the human spirit and was inspired by a magical encounter with a group
of ladies belonging to the Red Hat Society."

Warning, like Spencer's first solo recording, is
self-produced CD. Spencer served as executive producer for the new recording,
and as co-producer with pianist and musical director Philip Fortenberry
and composer and orchestrator, Keith Thompson.
