The annual Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) of New York City Awards Dinner was held on Monday, October 10th at 6 PM at Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan. The next wave of "Stay Close" ads was also unveiled. The ads are part of a public awareness campaign created by PFLAG NYC, an organization that provides support to the parents and other family members of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people.

The first wave of the campaign launched in February of this year featured straight celebrities and their gay family members including Ben Affleck and his cousin, Jason; Cyndi Lauper and her sister, Elen; Congressman Richard and Mrs. Jane Gephardt and their daughter, Chrissy; Latina television star Cristina Saralegui and her brother, Ignacio; Barbara Cook and her son, Adam; and NYC Congressman Gregory Meeks and his brother, John. The unveiling of the new ad spotlighting actress Rosario Dawson (Sin City,Rent film) and her gay uncle, Frank, marks the beginning of the second wave of "Stay Close," which will include another exciting roster of well-known and diverse celebrities with their gay family members.
