Photo Flash: GOD OF CARNAGE At Playhouse Theatre, AU

By:

Black Swan State Theatre Company and Queensland Theatre Company are presenting their production of God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza. It will be running at The Playhouse Theatre between 13 and 28 June.

This is the first co-production of Black Swan with Queensland Theatre Company, and the play is actually opening in Brisbane tomorrow night before heading to Perth in June.

When two sets of parents gather together to sort out who is responsible for one child's attack on the other, mayhem ensues. Any survivor of playgroup politics will enjoy God of Carnage, a hilarious exposé of parents behaving far worse than their children over a playground altercation. Under a thinly disguised veil of civility, the parents resort to childish games and toddler-like aggression. This delightful comedy is a must see for anyone who fancies a light-hearted night at the theatre.

Two outstanding comedic actors from Western Australia, Jodie Buzza and Benj D'Addario, will join two equally skilled Queenslanders, Andrew Buchanan and Veronica Neave, in an unforgettable comic lounge room battle. Michael Gow, Artistic Director of Queensland Theatre Company, acclaimed director and playwright and winner of numerous awards, will direct this comedy of manners (or should we say, bad manners?).

God of Carnage is highly acclaimed - it won this year's Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.
