A by-invitation-only reading of the new musical How The Nurse Feels will be presented Oct. 20 at in New World Stages in Manhattan.

The reading will boast the talents of Marisa Parry (Hairspray), Kevin Earley (A Tale of Two Cities), American Idol Finalist Ace Young (Grease), Lindsay Mendez (Grease), Kate Loprest (Hairspray), Kyle Dean Massey (Wicked), Kirsten Wyatt (Grease) and more, and is directed by Micheal G. Walling.
How The Nurse Feels features lyrics by David Green, music by composer John Glaudini and book by David Green and Debbie Lamedman. It is based on the award winning story, of the same name, by Greg Changnon.

The musical, according to press notes, is described as such: "The Lincoln Park High School senior class is presenting "Romeo and Juliet". The show is headed for disaster. The drama teacher left town unexpectedly and the show is now being directed by the head football coach. Seventeen year old Tess Powell, Licoln Park's best actress, plays The Nurse. Romeo is played by her gay best friend, Bailey, and Juliet is played by her arch rival, Trudy Painter, the head cheerleader and most popular girl on campus. The show is falling a part before their eyes and, worst of all, Tess Powell has no idea How The Nurse Feels."

How The Nurse Feels was was recently featured in the ASCAP-Disney Musical Theatre Workshop, under the direction of Stephen Schwartz, in Los Angeles. Selections from the musical were also featured at Birdland in Mr. Green's Opus as part of the "Broadway at Birdland" series in July.
