The Public Theater continues its spring season with the U.S. premiere of Drunk Enough to Say I Love You?, a new play by Caryl Churchill presented in association with the Royal Court Theatre. This two-character play, directed by James Macdonald and featuring Scott Cohen and Samuel West, comes to The Public after an acclaimed run at the Royal Court in London last year.  Drunk Enough to Say I Love You? will begin previews on Wednesday, March 5 and run through Sunday, April 6 with an official press opening on Sunday, March 16 at 7PM.

This groundbreaking new play by one of theater's preeminent voices reunites Caryl Churchill and The Public Theater. Drunk Enough to Say I Love You? is the sixth Churchill play to have its U.S. premiere at the Public, following the successes of Top Girls, Fen, Serious Money, and Ice Cream With Hot Fudge.  Churchill's last play at the Public, The Skriker, was performed in 1996 and featured Jayne Atkinson and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Scott Cohen (Sam) will play businessman Marcus Sonti on the upcoming FOX sitcom "The Return of Jezebel James" (opposite Parker Posey). He was recently seen on ABC's "Cashmere Mafia" (with Frances O'Connor) and in the upcoming films Iron Cross (with Roy Scheider) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (with Thora Birch). Cohen starred in the hit Fox Searchlight film Kissing Jessica Stein, directed by Charles Wurmfeld.  Cohen's stage credits include the Broadway comedy Losing Louie (Manhattan Theater Club, directed by Jerry Zaks); Glimmer, Glimmer and Shine by Warren Leight, opposite John Spencer and directed by Evan Yionoulis (Manhattan Theater Club).

Samuel West (Guy).  His UK theater credits include the title roles in Richard II and Hamlet (London Critics' Circle Award, Best Shakespearean Performance) for the Royal Shakespeare Company; Octavius Caesar in Antony and Cleopatra for the Royal National Theatre; The Master in The Master and Margarita at the Chichester Festival Theatre; the title role in Faustus (Minerva Theatre); Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing (Crucible Theatre); The Exonerated; Caryl Churchill's A Number (Studio Theatre, Sheffield and Minerva Theatre); and, most recently, a critically acclaimed revival of Harold Pinter's Betrayal at the Donmar Warehouse.

Drunk Enough to Say I Love You? will begin previews on Wednesday, March 5 and run through Sunday, April 6 with an official press opening on Sunday, March 16 at 7 PM.  The performance schedule is Tuesdays at 7 PM; Wednesdays thru Fridays at 8 PM; Saturdays at 2 PM and 8 PM; and Sundays at 3 PM and 7 PM.

The Public Theater is located at 425 Lafayette Street.  Tickets are $50 with student tickets available in advance, at the box office only, for $25 (1 per ID).  There are a limited number of Rush Tickets sold an hour before curtain at every performance available to the general public (Two per person, $20 each, cash only).
