Dress as Jesus for Free Admission to "A Very Naughty Greek Play"

In response to Christian conservative leader Bob Jones III (who last year described Aquila's work as "not acceptable fare for Christian People"), the inventive Aquila Theatre Company is inviting audience members for the World Premiere of A Very Naughty Greek Play, February 25 - March 20, at BPAC (Baruch Performing Arts Center), to dress as 'Jesus' - those who do will receive free admission to the new musical comedy. Each 'Jesus' must bring at least one paying guest to qualify for this miracle - unless the guest comes dressed as Mary Magdalene (non-gender specific)!
A bold new take on one of the greatest of all comic playwrights, A Very Naughty Greek Play is based on Aristophanes' classic ribald ancient Greek comedy, Wasps, and features a pax de duex with Jesus himself.
The Aquila Theatre Company was founded in London in 1991 by Peter Meineck to present innovative productions of classical drama. Since then the company has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe with annual productions in New York and London. In 1999, Aquila moved to New York and has since presented thirteen productions, including Aeschylus Agamemnon (with Olympia Dukakis), Homer's Iliad: Book One, Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Othello and Comedy of Errors; and Kipling's The Man Who Would be King.
Performance schedule for A Very Naughty Greek Play is as follows: through March 20, Wednesday - Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 5 & 9 PM, and Sunday at 3 PM.

A limited number of Greek Seats (General Admission stage side seating in the style of ancient Greek Theatre where audiences may be called upon to join in with the action of the show) are available for $15.
