Recording legend Cyndi Lauper and famed playwright Eve Ensler will be honored at the 37th Anniversary Gala of The Feminist Press at the City University of New York on Monday, November 5 at 6PM at Tavern On The Green (Central Park West at 67th Street.) Cocktails begin at 6PM. Dinner is at 7PM.

Matthew Goldstein, the Chancellor of The City University of New York since 1999, will also present Sue Rosenberg Zalk Awards to the nine women Presidents or Deans of CUNY who have been instrumental in making CUNY – the nation's largest urban public university – a model of diversity, opportunity, and academic excellence.

Television personality, author, and restaurateur Barbara Smith (B. Smith) will serve as emcee. In addition, there will be a film and reading celebrating the lives of two recently deceased American masters, Tillie Olsen and Grace Paley.  Kathleen Chalfant, OBIE award winner for her role in the play Wit, will also read from the works of Grace Paley.

Honorary co-chairs of the event include social critic and bestselling author Barbara Ehrenreich, cinema legend-activist Jane Fonda, and beloved actor-comedian LilyTomlin and Jane Wagner.

Since winning a Grammy in 1985 and becoming the first recording artist to have five top-ten singles from a debut album, Cyndi Lauper continues to enjoy acclaim as a singer, musician, actor, and writer, receiving an American Music Award, an MTV Music Video Award and an Emmy. In 2007, Lauper launched the True Colors Tour uniting Americans nationwide in solidarity against discrimination against the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.

Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues is now a worldwide theatrical and dramatic phenomenon with translations in 45 languages and productions in 119 countries.  The founder /artistic Director of V-Day, she has raised over $50 million in nine years to combat violence against women and girls.
