The Brown University/Trinity Rep Consortium presents Elektra adapted and directed by Mia Rovegno (Brown/Trinity Consortium '09) from text by Sophocles and Euripides. The show runs November 15-18, 2007 in the Citizens Bank Theater, Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street, Providence.

This Greek drama tells the story of a daughter cast out of her royal home that sets out to avenge her father's murder. Elektra dares to take action in a world ruled by fate.  Rovegno's adaptation is  "a collision of the works of Sophocles and Euripedes that tells everyone's side of the story - with the truth lying somewhere in between."

Rovegno is the founding artistic director of HummingbirdWORKS Multimedia_Performance_Project and a company member with foolsFURY in San Francisco. This is her second production with the Consortium.

Performances are November 15, 16, 17 at 8PM; and November 17 and 18 at 2PM. Tickets are $5, general admission and on sale now at the Trinity Rep box office, by phone (401) 351-4242 and online at www.trinityrep.com.
