Producers Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman have announced that the award-winning new musical In the Heights will begin previews on Thursday, February 14, 2008, and open Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). 

With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, In the Heights is directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy BlankenbuehlerAlex Lacamoire is music director and music arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire and Bill Sherman.  Lin-Manuel  Miranda also stars in the role of Usnavi.  Full casting will be confirmed shortly.

On Broadway, In the Heights features a scenic design by Anna Louizos, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Howell Binkley and sound by Acme Sound Partners.

In the Heights "is a quintessential New York musical about a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan. The music pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an  identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition," state press notes.

The show played the final performance of its successful Off-Broadway run at 37 Arts on Sunday, July 15, 2007, having played 33 preview and 182 regular performances.
