Dakota Fanning, well known for her movie career has her eyes set for the Great White Way it would appear.  After several trips to see the show since it opened, Dakota Fanning has expressed interest in making her debut in Spring Awakening according to a recent online interview.

"I love Spring Awakening so much, Especially the song My Junk!" the Young Artist Award-winner stated. "I have a very busy film schedule over the next several months, but I plan on working with a vocal coach while on location so that I can be prepared for this. I think it's important for me to expand my skills and not define myself as a film actress.
Julia Roberts did it last season..."

This past year, Fanning was in the media spotlight for her controversial rape scene in the independent film, "Hounddog"   No doubt the press and public will again be watching her every move when and if she take to the stage next season.

A spokesperson for Spring Awakening could not be reached for comment.
