On Sunday evening, November 21, 2004, The Metropolitan Opera Guild honored Kitty Carlisle and Moss Hart at a gala benefit program and dinner at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center.

This unique double tribute --- affectionately entitled HART TO HART --- celebrated the achievements and contributions of these two icons from the worlds of film, opera, radio, television, theater, and politics.

The performance was co-hosted by Julie Andrews and Beverly Sills and feature rared film and video excerpts as well as live performances and appearances by Jane Alexander, Audra McDonald, Robert Goulet, Denyce Graves, Thomas Hampson, Michael Feinstein, Sylvia McNair, Celeste Holm, Rosemary Harris, Mario Cuomo, Anna Moffo, and Rise Stevens, just to name a few.

As a special surprise, Kitty Carlisle Hart, sung as well. The Guild presented to Kitty and Moss the Eleanor Robson Belmont Medal in recognition of the Harts' lifelong contributions to the arts.
