Marilyn Maye, acclaimed the acclaimed RCA recording star who holds the record for singer's appearances on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" (76 times!) is returning to New York for an exclusive engagement of 14 shows at the Metropolitan Room.

Maye, whose recording of "Too Late Now" was chosen by the Smithsonian Collection of recordings as one of the 110 best songs and recordings of the first six decades of the 20th Century, has recorded seven albums and 34 singles. Rex Reed raved in The Observer,  "Marilyn Maye is a true original…Who knew she could still do it all and leave the audience screaming for more? With her jazz spiced chops, she has a theatrical flair that captivates and enthralls".

In under a year since its May 11, 2006 opening, The Metropolitan Room has established itself as a venue of choice for major artists of all kinds. Last month the club received a Nightlife Award at Town Hall for encouraging Broadway stars to develop solo shows.

"An Evening with Marilyn Maye" runs for two consecutive weeks on Thursday thru Sunday -- March 22, 23, 24 at 8p & 10:30p, March 25 at 7pm, March 29 at 10:30p only, March 30, 31 at 8p & 10:30p and April 1 two shows at 7 & 9:30p. The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues). Cover charge is $25.  For reservations call 212-206-0440. For more information visit www.metropolitanroom.com
