On New Year's Eve 2006, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change completed a successful four-week run at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre.

It was directed by Joel Bishoff, who helmed the original New York production as well as in 17 additional cities worldwide. This groundbreaking Chinese/American co-production was presented in Shanghai by Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre, People's Art Theatre and Broadway Asia Entertainment.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is first Western musical ever to be performed in Shanghai in Mandarin Chinese.

"Not just a recreation of the New York show,  Bishoff worked with translator Nick Rongjun Yu to incorporate local Chinese attitudes and references, allowing the material to resonate with Shanghai audiences. Featured in the talented cast of four is Lin Yilun, a popular singing star in China," press notes state.

With the critical and audience acclaim that it received in Shanghai, the production will kick off a national tour of China in Beijing in 2007. A complete list of dates and cities will be announced soon.

Now in its 11th year at New York's Westside Theatre, the hilarious I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change has surpassed the Broadway runs of such musicals as My Fair Lady, Annie, South Pacific, Oklahoma!, Grease, Miss Saigon, 42nd Street, Fiddler on the Roof, and Hello, Dolly! I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is the second longest-running Off-Broadway musical of all time after The Fantasticks.  Additional productions of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change have been mounted in more than 400 cities worldwide including Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, London, Tel Aviv, Mexico City, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Budapest, Sydney, Prague, Seoul, Milan, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg, Dublin, Buenos Aires, Berlin, and Hong Kong, grossing over 100 million dollars.

Written by playwright/lyricist Joe DiPietro and composer Jimmy Roberts, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is "a celebration of the modern-day suburban mating game as it explores the joys of dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives, and in-laws."
