Hairspray's Diana DeGarmo will perform at the inaugural night of "Soul Sundays," a bi-weekly nightclub variety show, on Sunday, December 3, at 10pm, at Luke & Leroy (21 Seventh Avenue South at Leroy Street).
"Soul Sundays" at Luke and Leroy has "been created as a weekly post-show party for the performing arts community, their friends, and the people who enjoy them. Since Sunday is the Friday for most performers, it was time for a venue to extend the weekend to Sunday nights," press notes state.
On alternate weeks, "Soul Sundays" will host a variety show. Unlike other venues that have cabarets, "Soul Sundays" with its guest vocal artists, music and comedy hosts, and the in-house &1 Dancers will feature a level of performance that has not been experienced in the night club scene yet. "Soul Sundays" is "where male/female, gay/straight, and every ethnicity will find ownership in a party, show, and space thatis for us by us."
The cover charge for "Soul Sundays" is $10. Hairspray cast member Abdul Latif is the creator/promoter of "Soul Sundays." Visit www.lukeandleroy.com.Videos
