StudentsLive Career Day on Broadway will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2006 at Roseland Ballroom (52nd Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue from 9:15 AM-12:00 PM).

The event is "an interactive workshop (created) just for the purpose of involving an audience in a comprehensive, interactive program in conjunction with trips to the theater. The workshop includes families, students, teachers, Girl Scouts, and members of the community from as far away as Indiana who have shown an interest in discovering Broadway onstage and off.  Close to 1,200 will be in attendance. They have received and been prepared by StudentsLive staff with a comprehensive Career Day Guide designed and written exclusively by one of StudentLive's Award Winning writers for this event," as press materials state.

"This premiere interactive workshop is the first time StudentsLive has produced an event offsite of one of the Broadway Theatres/Shows. Our goal, as always, is to create excellent programming like this to develop new audiences for Broadway.  To that end, we have encouraged our audience to attend a Broadway show of their choice that same afternoon.  More than half of our audience has purchased tickets to a matinee of their choice. Hopefully, their attendance at this exciting event will also inspire them to return in the near future and attend more Broadway Shows.

StudentsLive's Career Day Workshop will give an insider's look into the world of Broadway, and the many different positions and jobs that exist to make Broadway such an exciting and rewarding industry"

The workshop will be hosted and performed by a number of theatre professionals, and will include presentations by a representative of most every Broadway profession including: Producer, Director, Choreographer, General Manager, Stage Manager, Casting Director, Costume Designer, Lighting and Sound Designer,  Composer/Lyricist and more. Additionally, the day will be full of interactive songs and trivia to involve the whole audience.

Taking part will be: lighting designer Ken Billington, director and choreographer Wayne Cilento, general manager B.J. Holt, sound designer Scott Lehrer, costume designer William Ivey Long, composer/lyricist Jeff Marx, director Michael Mayer, production stage manager Bonnie Panson, casting director Duncan Stewart, general manager Abbie M. Strassler and producer Barry Weissler.
