ON THE RECORD is the story of a recording session that changed the lives of a young unknown who is about to get her big break, a pop diva who is about to meet her match, and a matinee idol who is about to meet the "new kid" who could take his place.  It is the show-stopping new musical from Disney set in a contemporary recording studio that sparkles with 64 of the most beloved songs ever written, from some of the most popular films ever made over the past 75 years.  "Boasting an incredibly diverse and gorgeous score, intimate staging and some fanciful Disney magic, we are sure that ON THE RECORD will delight audiences all over North America/>," said Thomas Schumacher, producer, Disney Theatrical Productions, a division of The Walt Disney Company.  "With ON THE RECORD, we hope to introduce an entire new generation to the music that has captured people's hearts for the past 70 years, all performed live on stage with a talented group of singers, dancers and musicians."

Disney's ON THE RECORD is directed, choreographed and co-conceived by Tony® Award nominee Robert Longbottom, director/choreographer of Broadway's recent Flower Drum Song revival and Side Show.  The music is adapted, supervised and arranged by David Chase, with orchestrations by Danny Troob.  The production is designed by Tony® Award nominee Robert Brill (scenery), Tony® Award nominee Gregg Barnes (costumes), Tony® Award winner Natasha Katz (lighting) and ACME Sound Partners (sound design).  Chad Beguelin is the scenarist.
