On January 26th Toronto was abuzz with excitement as stage and screen star Daniel Radcliffe arrived for his very first visit to the city to premiere his new film, The Woman in Black. The film stars Radcliffe as young Arthur Kipps, a lawyer who is haunted by the ghost of a scorned woman. Adapted from the 1983 novel by Susan Hill, The Woman in Black was first made into a stage production for London's West End, where it's currently celebrating its 23rd successful year. Hammer Productions is behind the big screen version, which promises to scare and entertain.
BWW was thrilled to have the opportunity to send a few lucky readers to the Toronto premiere, and we were also on hand to caputre photographs of Daniel Radcliffe on the black carpet. The screening took place at The Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Toronto, and featured a Q&A with Mr. Radcliffe after the film. Fans who braved the elements and the crowds for a glimpse of the star were not disappointed, as the audience erupted in cheers when the movie ended. The film opens in wide release on February 10th, 2012.
