Susan Boyle to Duet with Opera Star Andrea Bocelli; Serenades Japan New Years Eve

Scottish songbird Susan Boyle will join famed opera tenor Andrea Bocelli, who has sold a record 70 million albums, on stage in a duet to be aired as part of a new British TV talent show called Pop Star to Opera Star, the UK Daily Mail reports. On the show, pop singers are trained to sing arias. Though there is no word yet on the song selection, it is expected that they will perform on of Grammy-winning Bocelli's most famous numbers -Time to Say Goodbye or The Prayer, which he last performed with Celine Dion. Susan Boyle is all about the number 1s this month. Her 1st album, I Dreamed a Dream, debuted at number 1 on the charts, remained at number 1 in it's second week and, as previously reported, 'I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story,' which premiered exclusively on TV Guide Network on Sunday, December 13 became its #1 rated television special in history. The television special, which delivered a 1.0 coverage rating (788,500 HH) for the 8:00 p.m. telecast, also over-delivered with the network's key demos. It achieved a triple digit increase (404 percent) with persons 25-54 over the prior year, and the combined 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. telecasts reached 4.1 million households and 4.8 million viewers (p18+). The historic ratings performance indicates positive momentum for TV Guide Network, as it undergoes a major transformation to become the destination for premier entertainment programming. (more...)

Susan Boyle Cancels December 21 Performance in Toronto

The Daily Star is reporting that Susan Boyle has canceled her upcoming publicity tour in Canada. Boyle was scheduled to perform in Toronto on December 21, after previously postponing a trip to the Canadian city in November. According to the reports, the record label made a decision to cancel the dates in Canada to 'to allow more time between ­international promotional trips.' It's expected the British sensation, who recently performed in the USA and France, will make a stop on Canadian soil in 2010, though details are yet to be confirmed. (more...)

Susan Boyle, runner up on the popular British television show 'Britain's Got Talent,' is rumored to have been invited to perform for President Barack Obama and the First Lady, Michelle Obama.
