Darren Criss on His Trip to Broadway's NEWSIES!

Stage veteran Darren Criss may be through with his run in HOW TO SUCCEED, but that doesn't mean that he's done with Broadway. In a recent interview with Billboard, Criss revealed that he just made a trip to the Nederlander Theatre to see NEWSIES. Criss told Billboard: 'I'm a huge 'Newsies' fan, and I love that show. I wouldn't deign to think I could be in that show because I can't sing or dance like those kids. They put me to shame.' (more...)

NEWSIES Cast Album Now Available on iTunes!

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of NEWSIES is now available digitally today on Ghostlight Records. The album has debuted at #1 on the iTunes Soundtracks chart and #15 on the iTunes album chart.To purchase the album, visit iTunes here. The recording is set for physical release on May 15th, 2012. The physical release will feature three special bonus tracks including an exclusive version of "Santa Fe" performed by lead Jeremy Jordan accompanied by Alan Menken on piano. STAGE TUBE: Disney Fantasy Cruise Performance Includes Song From TANGLED

Disney's newest musical stage show called Wishes debuted on the Disney Fantasy cruise ship, following a trio of graduating high school students on a magical ride through Disney animated films. Seen here is a scenes from the film Tangled, starring Rapunzel, Flynn Ryder, and the gang of thugs in the Snuggly Duckling. Alan Menken wrote the music for the original film. STAGE TUBE: New Commerical for NEWSIES

Newsies opened March 29th, at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre for a limited run following its critically-hailed stint at Paper Mill Playhouse last fall. The musical, featuring a score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Harvey Fierstein, played its first Broadway preview on March 15th; the final performance is scheduled for August 19th. NEWSIES Announces Special Opening Night Ticket Lottery!

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) has just announced that 100 tickets to Newsies will be available via lottery for the opening night performance on Thursday, March 29th. The ticket allotment has been donated by Disney Theatrical Productions, allowing 100% of the proceeds to benefit BC/EFA. Beginning at Noon, patrons are invited to enter the lottery for 100 tickets; winners will be drawn at 12:30PM. Winners may then purchase up to two $30.00 cash only tickets to that evening's performance. Winners must be present with valid identification at the time of the drawing. (more...)
