That's how Michael Balderrama, resident director and choreographer of In The Heights, has described the cast for the Second National Tour of the musical, who started rehearsals in New York last month. Universal Pictures Drops IN THE HEIGHTS Film

Today, the word is that Universal Pictures has removed the planned IN THE HEIGHTS movie from its projects, according to Deadline.com. Though the project carries with it only a price tag of about $37 million, Universal didn't see any firm commitments on big names in the supporting roles. (more...)

Miranda, founding president of the Hispanic Federation; Nina Garcia, the New York Times Best-Selling author and judge on hit show Project Runway, Angel Sánchez; world-renowned Latin American fashion designer; Mike Fernandez, Vice-President of State Farm Insurance; Willie Colon, internationally acclaimed recording artist and humanitarian. The night of celebration, held at the Waldorf Astoria, included a special performance by Willie Colon.
