Ghostlight Records is set to release an updated and re-mastered version of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Footloose the Musical. The album will be available digitally on October 4, 2011 and in stores and physical retailers on October 25, 2011. As previously reported, the Footloose remake, starring Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald will be released in theaters on October 14, 2011. Last month, BroadwayWorld brought you a sneak peek of the first production stills, and today we bring you a look at the official movie poster, as first exclusively unveiled on MTV.com.
The new film Footloose will be expanded into a 'full-blown movie musical' from the earlier film with songs. In addition to starring a young Kevin Bacon as Ren, Footloose also starred Lori Singer as Ariel. It was originally written by Dean Pitchford and directed by Herbert Ross. A Broadway musical version of Footloose was previously staged in 1998.
Stepping into those iconic roles are Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough. The film will be produced by the highly successful team of Craig Zadan (a producer of the original 'Footloose' in 1984) and Neil Meron. Get a first glimpse at the movie below!

Following an extensive worldwide search, newcomer Kenny Wormald will play the highly coveted role of ‘Ren', opposite previously announced star Julianne Hough as ‘Ariel'. Dennis Quaid also joins the cast in the role of ‘Reverend Moore', along with Miles Teller as ‘Willard'.
