RIALTO CHATTER: ALL ABOUT ME to Close April 4?

It seems Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein's ALL ABOUT ME will play its final performance on April 4, 2010 after opening on March 18, 2010. Telecharge.com, the show's official ticketing outlet, is only selling tickets through April 4, uncharacteristic of a new Broadway production that just opened. Today, Bill Geddie, executive producer of ABC's Emmy® award-winning talk show "The View," announced that Dame Edna Everage is confirmed to co-host ABC's "The View," live on Thursday, March 25 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), a first for the international superstar. Feinstein and Edna's ALL ABOUT ME Cancels First 3 Previews; Now Begins Performances 2/22

The producers of All About Me announced today that due to the late change in directors, Michael Feinstein and Dame Edna's All About Me will begin previews at the Henry Miller's Theatre three days later than previously announced. All About Me's original director, Jerry Zaks, recently left the production to work as the head creative consultant on THE ADDAMS FAMILY, also heading to Broadway this spring. Casey Nicholaw stepped into fill Zak's shoes just a few weeks ago. (more...)

It is with great reluctance but enormous panache, given the expanding parameters of the production, that All About Me announces a new first - it moving theatres even before opening. The production will now begin performances at Henry Miller's Theatre (124 West 43rd St.) moving two blocks from one of the New York's prime theatres - and the originally announced - The John Golden Theatre.
