According to the Daily Mail, Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical STEPHEN WARD is still searching for a West End venue, with hopes to begin rehearsals in October in time for November previews. Lloyd Webber is looking for a mid-sized theatre; if the right one is not booked soon, the musical will be pushed back until late spring or early summer 2014. (more...)

According to the Sun, during filming for an ITV special to honor Andrew Lloyd Webber's 40 years in show business, he revealed Scarlett Johansson was his first choice for the role of 'Maria' in The Sound of Music during his 2006 'How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?' talent search for BBC1. Andrew Lloyd Webber Confirms Profumo Musical Will Focus on STEPHEN WARD; Show Nearly Ready

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is nearly finished with his work on a musical based on the events surrounding the 1963 Profumo Affair, and we revealed back in December that the project will reunite him with lyricist Don Black and playwright Christopher Hampton - the team behind SUNSET BOULEVARD, which debuted in the West End in 1993 and later won seven 1995 Tony Awards including Best Musical. BWW Reviews: ASPECTS OF LOVE Moving, Problematic and Worthy in Theo Ubique's Gutsy Production

Playing now through April 21, 2013 at the No Exit Cafe in Rogers Park, and officially opening yesterday, the rarely seen Andrew Lloyd Webber musical 'Aspects of Love' has been very competently mounted by the consistently high-quality storefront non-Equity company, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre. And this 1989 London show, receiving what I believe is the Chicago premiere of the revised version first mounted in the UK in 1993-4, has been clearly intended by the company to be a follow-up to its phenomenally successful, multi-Jeff Award winning, multi-BroadwayWorld Award winning 2012 production of 'A Light in the Piazza,' a show with a similar post-war, stylish Continental setting and the seduction of romantic melodies in the air--not much dialogue or dance needed. Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Backs Paines Plough's First Portable Theater-in-the-Round

According to The Independent, Andrew Lloyd Webber's foundation has donated £150,000 to a traveling theater, the 'Roundabout auditorium', designed by theatre company Paines Plough. It is the first portable theatre-in-the-round and aims to put grassroots theater back on the map. (more...)

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is at work on a musical based on the events surrounding the 1963 Profumo Affair. Today, the Daily Mail has confirmed that Lloyd Webber will be leading a sing-through of the musical's score with Alexander Hanson as Stephen Ward and Hal Fowler as Profumo.
