The Village Voice, the nation's largest alternative weekly newspaper, announced that the 57th Annual Obie Awards will take place on Monday, May 21, 2012, at Webster Hall in the East Village (125 East 11th Street). Actors Fund to Honor Jason Alexander at Tony Awards Party, 6/10

Sunday, June 10th, The Actors Fund will honor TONY® Award winner Jason Alexander at their 16th Annual Tony Awards® Party with the Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement. The gala, which will be held at Skirball Center (2701 North Sepulveda Blvd, LA, 90049), features the only approved live feed of the Tony Awards as they happen in New York. Stockard Channing & John Larroquette Host 2012 Drama League Awards

The Drama League has announced that this year's 78th Annual Drama League Awards will be hosted by Tony Award winners Stockard Channing (Other Desert Cities) and John Larroquette (Gore Vidal's The Best Man). The awards ceremony is set for Friday afternoon, May 18th at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway) at Noon. Harris, a member of The League of American Theaters and Producers who served on the Board of Directors of the Carbonell Awards from 2001-2008, including two terms as president, during which time he was instrumental in rising the profile of the awards and designing its current voting structure. Annie Baker, Jose Rivera, et al. to Judge 2012 Obie Awards

he Village Voice, the nation's first and largest alternative weekly newspaper, has announced the judges for the 57th Annual Village Voice Obie Awards. The Voice's chief theater critic, two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist, and theater dramaturge Michael Feingold, who has chaired the Obies since the 2006-7 season, will become the first Obies Chairman Emeritus. The 2011-12 Obie Chairman will be Brian Parks. Brian is the Arts and Culture editor of The Village Voice, which includes editing the paper's theater section. He has previously served as Obies Chairman, from 1999 to 2003. (more...)
