The Civic Arts Plaza (CAP) has announced the current line-up for the 2017-2018 season. CAP is the private, non-profit, in-house presenting division of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. CAP has a strong tradition of hosting great musicians and artists, which will continue this year with a diverse array of performing arts.
The incredible musical line-up includes names familiar to all music lovers: Boz Scaggs, Paul Anka, Kansas, Air Supply, Home Free, The Folk Reunion featuring The Kingston Trio, Los Lobos, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
Artists bought back by popular demand include Colbie Caillat, Beach Boys, Jay Leno, Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood from Whose Line is it Anyway? and Paula Poundstone.
Family shows include Shopkins Live!, Champions of Magic, and Ensemble Theater presenting My Fathers Dragon.
Making a Thousand Oaks debut will be dance company Momix, comedy show/Tupperware party, Dixie's Tupperware Party, Jazz singer/trumpet player Bria Skonberg and The Boston Pops featuring music by John Williams.
The intimate Scherr Forum will host its largest season yet with Chris Hillman & Herb Pedersen, Will Ackerman, Firefall, Karla Bonoff and John McEuen.
The partnership between CAP and National Geographic Live will continue for a second year and will bring four adventure speakers. Photographer David Guttenfelder, astronaut Terry Virts, mountain climber Hilaree O'Neill and photographer and filmmaker Kevin Fedarko & Pete McBride. Shows can be purchased as a series or as single tickets.
The season officially opens Aug. 5 with Colbie Caillat performing at the Fred Kavli Theatre. Additional shows will be added all year long.
