St. Louis' premier classical theatre since 1984 - presents Shakespeare's seldom seen EDWARD III, performed at the Orthwein Theatre on the campus of Mary Institute St. Louis Country Day School.
The Midwest premiere of a "new" Shakespeare play! The Reign of King Edward the Third concerns two campaigns of the 14th-century English king. One is military, as Edward leads his army against France to assert his claim to its throne. The other is amorous, as he besieges the virtue of the Countess of Salisbury, whose husband is a loyal subject. Be among the first to see this newly discovered gem!
Starring Cameron Ulrich as Edward III, Aaron Orion Baker as Prince Edward, Ben Ritchie as King John, Todd Pieper as Salisbury, and Andrea Luetzeler as the Countess of Salisbury.
"Our focus has always been to celebrate the writings of William Shakespeare and to make his plays accessible to all," says director and St. Louis Shakespeare founder Donna Northcott. "This season is particularly exciting as it marks our 24th year producing exciting, entertaining productions of classical theatre in St. Louis using exclusively local talent. We invite everyone to come and be part of the celebration."
