Beginning with tonight's performance, Andy Karl and Quinn Van Antwerp have joined the Broadway cast of Jersey Boys. Karl (Legally Blonde, Wicked) steps in the role of Tommy DeVito; Dominic Nolfi departed on September 25th. Direct from the national tour of JERSEY BOYS, VanAntwerp steps in the role of Bob Gaudio; Ryan Jesse departed October 9. Drury Lane Theatre presents the Tony Award-winning international hit musical AIDA, Directed and Choreographed by Jeff Award winner Jim Corti (Sweet Charity, Meet Me in St. Louis, Cabaret, and Sugar.) Featuring a dynamic cast led by Stephanie Umoh as 'Aida' ('Sarah' in the 2009 Broadway production of Ragtime) and Jared Zirilli as 'Radames' (first National Tour of Wicked), AIDA opens March 24 and runs through May 29 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane.

Last night, August 16, The Broadway Boys took the stage at Birdland. Featuring regulars Jesse Nager (Mary Poppins), Michael James Scott (Jersey Boys), Mykal Kilgore (Hair), Danny Calvert (Altar Boyz), Gabe Violett (Spring Awakening), and Zak Resnick (Dogfight), the concert also showcased special guest Natalie Weiss from Wicked.

Tony Award winners John Lithgow and Jennifer Ehle star as MR. & MRS. FITCH in the world premiere comedy from Douglas Carter Beane at Second Stage Theatre. The production marks MR. Beane's return to Second Stage Theatre where his critically acclaimed, Tony-nominated play The Little Dog Laughed premiered in 2005. MR. & MRS. FITCH is directed by Scott Ellis, who also staged the world premiere and Broadway transfer of The Little Dog Laughed. Previews began on January 26 and the show officially opened last night, February 22 and BroadwayWorld was there!

On Sunday, Aug 23rd 2009, Upright Cabaret's incredibly popular 'Wicked Summer Nights' series at the Ford Amphitheatre drew to a close with a spectacular concert entitled 'Stephen Schwartz: Making Good' which set out to celebrate the works of the man who inspired the series, Mr. Stephen Schwartz.

Stage and screen star Kristin Chenoweth, Tony Award winner for 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown,' and Tony Award nominee for originating the role of Glinda the Good Witch in 'Wicked,' performed her Benefit Concert at Westport Country Playhouse (Mark Lamos, artistic director, Michael Ross, managing director) on March 28th instead of the original date of February 7th, 8 p.m

Only two weeks remain for Chicagoans to see WICKED, the musical phenomenon that has changed Chicago for good. Performances have been selling out but good seats are still available for Tuesday and Wednesday performances with limited availability for weekends. The WICKED drawing will continue to take place for all performances. WICKED will take its final bow in Chicago on January 25, 2009.

Audiences have just six weeks to catch the magic that has entranced the Windy City for three and a half years. The Chicago company of WICKED will take its final bow after the 2 p.m. performance on Sunday, January 25, 2009, following a record-breaking open run at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre.

On June 21st - 2007's longest day of the year - the Chicago company of Wicked, now the longest running Broadway show in Chicago theater history, extended its special day just a little longer as company members toasted the show's second anniversary with a late-night lake and river cruise aboard Chicago's First Lady.

Celebrating 3 years on Broadway, the Annual 'Wicked Day' event featuring a costume contest, games, prizes and of course the 'Be Wicked' singing contest took place on October 29th and BroadwayWorld.com was there!

The Broadway Show League celebrated with their End of Season Party and Awards Ceremony on Thursday night, September 1st 2005 at Tony's DiNapoli Times Square, and BroadwayWorld was there.
