BroadwayWorld Chicago invited all winners, nominees, past winners and nominees, theater folk, superfans, board members and everyone else to the third annual BroadwayWorld Awards Celebration on January 9, 2013 at The Call nightclub in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. BroadwayWorld's Paul W. Thompson and The Call's Ashley Morgan once again co-hosted the event, with showtune videos presented by VJ Michael Hogan in between categories. (more...)

President George HW Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush honored the Ogunquit Playhouse by attending yesterday's (June 3rd) Matinee performance of Always, Patsy Cline, now playing through June 16. Sally Struthers (as Louise) and Carter Calvert (as Patsy Cline) welcomed them backstage during intermission, where President and Mrs. Bush exalted both leading lady's performances. Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT), the professional producing arm of the Department of Dramatic Arts at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, concludes its Nutmeg Summer Series with the musical revue Smokey Joe's Café, playing now through Sunday, July 4 in the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre. Evening performances start at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Plus, a Sunday matinee performance starting at 2 p.m. The Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre is located on the campus of the University of Connecticut in Storrs, and provides air-conditioned comfort and convenient free parking in Lot 9 and X Lot.
