As BroadwayWorld sadly reported earlier this week, the legendary Carol Channing. Channing died at 12:31am on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, at home in Rancho Mirage, CA of natural causes.

The Mac-Haydn Theatre (MHT), after a successful run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, continues its 49th season with the 2004 musical comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Based off of the 1988 movie of the same name, the 10-time Tony nominated musical by David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane will be a MHT premiere.

Directed by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle, Hello, Dolly! will begin performances at Broadway's Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street) on March 15, 2017, with an official opening night of April 20, 2017. Hello, Dolly! gehort seit der Urauffuhrung 1964 zu den international erfolgreichsten Musicals aller Zeiten. Neben der Handlung, die auf einer Komodie Thornton Wilders basiert, und den witzigen Dialogen, sind es vor allem die Melodien Jerry Hermans, auf denen dieser Erfolg beruht. Im Grenzlandtheater Aachen hatte das Stuck hatte am vergangenen Freitag Premiere. Vorstellungen laufen noch bis zum 3. Februar.

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre just wrapped up its production of Fiddler on the Roof - a colorful, reimagined version of the classic Tony Award-winning musical, directed and choreographed by Tony Award-nominated director Marcia Milgrom Dodge. Set in 1905 in the village of Anatevka in Tsarist, Russia, the story follows dairyman Tevye as he fights to maintain his family and heritage. Broadway's Robert Petkoff, who starred as Tevye in the production, just released a series of 1900s-style portraits of the cast, and you can check out the beautiful images below!

Last night, three-time Tony Award-winner Carol Channing joined LGBT icon and Tony Nominee Justin Vivian Bond in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: An Intimate Evening with Carol Channing and Justin Vivian Bond at Town Hall. The evening coincided with the 50th anniversary of Hello Dolly! (January 16, 1964) and was just one week before Carol's 93rd birthday.

Over the weekend, Richard Skipper kicked off a yearlong celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hello, Dolly! with members of the original Broadway cast! In attendence for the special reunion were Nicole Barth (Original cast), Paul Berne (dancer, Original Company), Carleton Carpenter and Johnny Beecher (Sheridan (Cornelius Hackl and Barnaby Tucker: Mary Martin International Company), Wayne Clark (first National Company with Carol Channing), John Anthony Gilvey, David Hartman (Rudolph and Stage Manager: Original Company), Charles Karel (Original cast), Jan LaPrad (Original Company dancer), Joan 'Buttons' Leonard (original company), Bob Lydiard (Cornelius Hackl, Carol's first Broadway Revival), Lee Roy Reams (Cornelius Hackl 1977 tour and Broadway Revival, director 1996 Broadway tour and Revival),Megan Thomas (Carol's last tour), Andrea Bell (started with Carol Channing, as Ermengarde at the age of seventeen, in Carol's FIRST national tour as well as other productions.) Hello, Dolly! stars Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba as 'Dolly Levi.' She received the Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award, and the Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance in Lincoln Center Theatre's Contact. Ziemba also received Tony Award nominations for her roles in Steel Pier, Never Gonna Dance, and Curtains and the Drama Desk Award for And the World Goes 'Round, as well as the Outer Critics Circle Awards for both Never Gonna Dance and Curtains. She has starred in productions at The New York City Opera, Carnegie Hall for PBS' Great Performances, and NY City Center Encores. Fresh from her choreographing stint at the first London revival of Marvin Hamlisch's 'A Chorus Line,' Baayork Lee, 'A Chorus Line' veteran herself, and a co-founder of the National Asian Artists Project, a non-profit organization that promotes Asian performing artists, presents a fully-staged, fully-costumed adaptation of Jerry Herman's hit Broadway musical 'Hello, Dolly!,' featuring an all-Asian cast led by Rosetta Lenoire Award-winning actress Christine Toy Johnson as Dolly Gallagher Levi, a widowed matchmaker (a role originated by Carol Channing in the 1964 Broadway production).
