Photo Flash: First Look at Theo Unique Cabaret Theatre's ASPECTS OF LOVE

Aspects of Love, the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black and Charles Hart that enjoyed a three-year run in London's West End from 1989 to 1992, will receive a long overdue Chicago mounting when Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre opened its production on March 11, 2013. Yesterday, August 22, Liz Lochhead launched Poetry in the Persian Tent at the Festival of Spirituality and Peace in Edinburgh, UK, to raise money for Oxfam project Old MacDonald Had a Farm for Africa. In the first of five Poetry in the Persian Tent readings with music, poets Liz Lochhead, John Glenday, Ryan Van Winkle, and Stephanie Green performed their verse accompanied by John Sampson on wind instruments. On Thursday, June 21, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Deputy Borough President Sandra Chapman and the Caribbean-American Heritage Month Committee hosted the 7th annual Caribbean-American Heritage Month festivities at Brooklyn Borough Hall. Events of the day included music and dance performances, a marketplace, film screenings, an economic development power brunch and a tasting of Caribbean food. Winner of three 2010 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, this flashy comedy made Tony Awards history as the first show ever to win the Tony Award three times for best production. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, the 2010 Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical, played its final Broadway performance on Sunday, May 1 at 3:00 PM at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street). At closing, the production had played 433 performances and 15 previews. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES will be launching a national tour this fall, starting in October in Des Moines, IA and starring George Hamilton. (more...)
