Music Theatre Wichita continues its 2017 Season, 'Hollywood to Broadway: A Summer Festival of Musical Theatre' by welcoming patrons to the 60s with a new version of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman's Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray, which runs July 12-16 in the Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, KS. The third of five locally produced Broadway-scale productions, Hairspray is part of the organization's 46th season, which is also the 30th season for producing artistic director Wayne Bryan.

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT present the fifth show of its 2016-2017 season, Davis Gaines starring in his Ovation award-winning role as Don Quixote in MAN OF LA MANCHA, with book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion, music by Mitch Leigh, musical direction by Jeff Rizzo, choreography by Patti Colombo and directed by Glenn Casale. MAN OF LA MANCHA will preview on Friday, June 2, 2017 (with a press opening on Saturday, June 3) and run through Sunday, June 25, 2017 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.

The Crusade of Connor Stephens, a new play written and directed by Dewey Moss, will begin an open-ended run at Off-Broadway's Jerry Orbach Theater at The Theater Center on June 17, 2017. Opening night is scheduled for June 26. 

Broadway Global has announced the nominees for the 2017 Producer of the Year. The 2016 winners, Cathy Rigby McCoy & Tom McCoy, the first woman and first couple ever chosen as Producers of the Year (we couldn't honor one, without the other). Lane hosted an evening on broadway to celebrate the university, their latest mega hit, Sunset Boulevard at the Palace Theater and the 10th anniversary of the 500 seat Comley-Lane Theatre. Directed by Lonny Price, this production of Sunset Boulevard will feature a 40-piece orchestra on the stage of The Palace Theatre (1564 7th Avenue), the biggest on Broadway in more than 80 years. Performances will begin on Thursday, February 2, 2017, with an official opening night set for Thursday, February 9, 2017.Sunset Boulevard will play a limited 16-week engagement.
