The Freedom of the City Photos - Off-Broadway

In 1849, a twenty-eight year-old former slave named Harriet Tubman risked her life to lead a group of other slaves to freedom. Over the course of ten years, she made an additional nineteen trips. She didn't lose any of her three hundred 'passengers' on The Underground Railroad. They called her 'Moses.'

The City Theatre is gearing up for the start of the 2014 Season next month with The Whipping Man, Matthew Lopez's award-winning drama that has been recognized from coast to coast. Under the direction of guest director Stacey Glazer and starring three veterans of the CTC stage, The Whipping Man runs February 7 - March 2. BroadwayWorld has a look at the cast below!

Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Machinal, starring Rebecca Hall, written by Sophie Treadwell and directed by Lyndsey Turner, began previews on December 20, 2013 ahead of an official opening on January 16, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway.
