Rose Theatre Productions presents Donkeys' Years by Michael Frayn between the 6 and 22 February 2014. This sparkling revival is directed by Lisa Spirling, making a return to the Rose following her acclaimed production of Michael Frayn's Here in 2012. There will be a talk with Michael Frayn and Lisa Spirling at 5.30pm in the auditorium on Thursday 13 February.

This year's African Creative Economy Conference (ACEC) takes place in one week's time - and some of the world's most incisive, creative and thought-provoking strategists, academics, entrepreneurs and artists will shortly debate how to unlock the potential of the creative economies. This year, speakers and panellists at Cape Town's City Hall (6-9 October) will focus on the continent's creative industries as economic drivers, highlighting their potential contribution to the eradication of poverty and underpinning of democracy and human rights.

The New York Dance and Performance Awards (The Bessies), NYC's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, announces Darrell Jones as the third annual recipient of the Juried Bessie Award. NY State DanceForce member Paz Tanjuaquio, Director of Topaz Arts presented the award during the 2012-2013 Bessie Award nominee press conference held at Gibney Dance. Death and the Maiden, Ariel Dorfman's political drama, opens the Matrix Theatre Company's 2012-2013 Season. Running from September 21 through October 14, the play depicts a tense political and psychologically complex story which confronts the audience with issues of justice and revenge, especially in relationship to the punishment of war criminals. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8 pm, with Sunday performances beginning at 3 pm, and are presented at the Matrix Theatre located at 2730 Bagley in the heart of Detroit's Mexicantown.

The Old Vic brings the critically acclaimed Sheffield Theatres' production of Michael Frayn's cold-war drama Democracy to London. Associate Director of Sheffield Theatres Paul Miller directs. Press night was held last night and BroadwayWorld has a first look at the production photos below!

Ford's Theatre Society just opened the Tony-winning musical 1776, directed by Peter Flynn, on March 9. The production runs though May 19, 2012. With 'quick-witted dialogue and a playful score,' 1776 dramatizes the impassioned debates of Philadelphia's Second Continental Congress and the writing of the Declaration of Independence.
